Terms of Service

Last updated 21 October 2026

These terms apply when you download or play a Little Fathom game or use littlefathom.com. They’re written to be read. By playing our games or using this site, you agree to them.

Who we are

Little Fathom is an independent mobile game studio based in South Africa. “We” and “us” in these terms mean Little Fathom. You can reach us at info@littlefathom.com.

Your licence to play

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to download our games and play them on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial entertainment. You may not:

  • copy, modify, sell or redistribute a game or any part of it;
  • reverse engineer or decompile a game, except where the law expressly allows it;
  • remove or alter any copyright, trademark or licence notice.

Streaming and posting videos or screenshots of our games is welcome, including on monetised channels.

Purchases

Purchases in our games are made through Google Play and are subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Prices are shown in the game before you pay. Refunds are handled by Google under its refund policy; this doesn’t affect any rights you have under consumer law.

Non-consumable purchases, such as removing ads, are tied to your Google account and can be restored from the game’s Settings if you reinstall.

Virtual items and currencies

In-game currencies, items and progress are part of the licence to play. They have no value outside the game, can’t be exchanged for real money, and can’t be sold or transferred to anyone else.

Because progress is stored on your device, uninstalling a game or clearing its data can erase it unless you use cloud save. Resetting your progress from Settings may also remove purchased consumables; the game always says so before you confirm.

We never sell random rewards for real money, and money never buys an advantage in ranked or competitive modes.

Advertising

Some games show ads provided by Google AdMob. We don’t endorse the products advertised, and anything you buy from an advertiser is between you and them. How ads use your information is explained in our Privacy Policy.

Fair play

Leaderboards and daily challenges are meant to be fair for everyone. Please don’t use cheats, modified game files, automation or exploits, or interfere with our games or the services they use. We may remove scores or entries that result from this.

Names shown publicly, such as on leaderboards, come from your Google Play Games profile and must follow Google’s policies.

What we own

Our games, their names, logos, art, music, text and code, and this website, belong to Little Fathom or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. Third-party assets are credited in each game under Settings › About.

Third-party services

Our games rely on services run by others, including Google Play, Google Play Games Services, AdMob and Firebase. Your use of those services is also governed by their own terms, and we aren’t responsible for how they operate.

Updates and availability

We improve our games regularly, and some updates install automatically the next time a game starts. Updates may add, change or remove features or rebalance gameplay. We may stop offering or supporting a game; if we do, we’ll give reasonable notice where we can, and any game already on your device can keep working offline as far as its design allows.

No warranty

We work hard to make our games polished and reliable, but they’re provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that they will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, progress or virtual items, arising from your use of our games or this website. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Ending these terms

You can stop at any time by uninstalling our games. If you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, we may end your licence to play; you would then need to stop using the game.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be announced in the game before they take effect. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the updated terms.
